Comm-Link News

Auto-post new RSI Comm-Link articles to a channel of your choice — set one field on the dashboard and the feed runs itself.

TierFree
You'll needA news channel selected on the News Feed card.

Comm-Link News keeps your server current with Roberts Space Industries' official communications. Once you pick a channel, the bot watches the RSI Comm-Link feed and automatically posts each new article as an embed — patch notes, lore posts, ship reveals, event announcements — with a link back to the full article. No one has to run anything; it just shows up.

Setup

This feature is configured entirely on the dashboard — there is no slash command for it. The whole setup is one field:

  1. Open your guild's dashboard and stay on the Features tab (it's the default).
  2. Find the News Feed card, toggle it on, and click Configure.
  3. Pick a News Channel — the text channel where articles will be posted. A dedicated read-only channel like #rsi-news works well.
  4. Click Save Changes.

The News Feed card's modal has a single setting: the channel where Comm-Link posts land.
New items only — no backfill

The feed posts articles published after you enable it. It won't flood your channel with the existing Comm-Link back-catalogue, so it's safe to point at an active channel.

What a post looks like

Each new Comm-Link item arrives as an embed with the article's title, a summary, and a link to the full post on the RSI site.

To stop the feed, toggle the News Feed card off (or clear the channel) — you can switch channels at any time by picking a different one and saving.

  • Want member-facing lookups to go with the news? See Ships & Hangar for the ship database commands.
  • The command reference lists every StarBot command — you won't find one for this feature, and that's by design.
